The Elephant Ear Plant as it's most commonly known as is named after its large bold leaves that are dark green with cream vein details. It's botanical name is Alocasia Polly and it's tropical plant from the amazon region.
The plant thrives in moist conditions in a kitchen or bathroom but not at a window as direct sunlight can damage the leaves, natural light is fine. Keep the Elephant Ear in a warm room with the soil damp not wet, well drained and don't let it dry out to enjoy it at its best. It's a striking indoor plant that would be suitable for someone who's begun a collection of green indoor plants not recommended as a beginner house plant owner.
