The Money Plant as it’s most common name is also called the Jade Plant or the Lucky Plant considered to bring good luck and prosperity. It’s botanical name is Crassula ovata, its native to South Africa and is a succulent indoor houseplant.
The plant suits average room temperatures or warm conditions, it does not fare well in cold or frosty temperatures. Water it well keeping the soil damp but be careful to never let the plant sit in water, it is essential that it is well drained and mustn’t be overwatered, as it is a succulent its leaves retain water. It’s fine to allow the soil to dry a little but never let it dry out completely. The Money Plant requires very bright indirect sunlight to thrive and is considered toxic to pets.
